  1. Kindle freebie as part of the collection Nine Ladies Dancing A Boxed Set of Ten Sweet and Clean Regency Romances 3.5 starsLady Isabella Vane is a lovely young widow who should be out in Society enjoying herself However, her marriage was a disaster and she prefers to keep her past to herself Only her widowed Aunt Harriet knows most of the truth a truth Isabella tries to hide from her young son Dominic Isabella s reticence and cool reserve earn her the epithet of Ice Angel Hal Cavanagh, Earl of Br [...]

  2. Ice Angel by Elizabeth Hanbury is the first of the Cavanagh Family series, but it was A Bright Particular Star that re introduced me to regency romances, and this is as strong as Miss Hanbury s other works.I found myself falling heavily for Isabella, the so named Ice Angel of the story, but it s the other characters, especially Hal, which make the story what it is a thoroughly enjoyable tale.I ll admit that I m new to Georgette Heyer s books, but this stands up with one of my first fave authors [...]

  3. Rarely do I find a book that has been published today that has that Regency feel which I long for Just like I found it in Jude Morgan, I believe I have found it in Elizabeth Hanbury. The author has successfully woven a wonderful story around characters who seem so real and one immediately feels sympathetic towards them because of the difficulties they experienced in their past My weakness is a large family with many brothers, and Hal, the hero, had that sort of family which made him even likable [...]

  4. This is a beautiful story of a widow who comes to terms with her tragic past Isabella, Lady Vane, is a strong woman, but she has endured mental and physical abuse at the hands of her first husband She reluctantly agrees to accompany her aunt Harriet to a few functions in London, but between her son Domenic, Harriet, and the charming Hal, she finds herself enjoying life and Her gradual growth is told in a gentle and entirely satisfying manner I highly recommend this book Ice Angel is part of th [...]

  5. A sparkling, extremely well written Regency romance, Ice Angel ticks all the requisite boxes Isabella, Lady Vane, with all of her reserve and caution, is still a warm, lovely female protagonist, one who is easily identified with through her role as mother to Dominic Hints of a dark side to her former marriage are sprinkled throughout the first part of the book, adding intrigue and suspense to what would otherwise be a very straightforward premise We meet Hal, Lord Bramwell at a party, and are in [...]

  6. posted on cleanreadspleaseThis will be quick I liked this enough I liked the premise, the two main characters had each been romantically hurt in the past, Isabella than Hal Even though I rolled my eyes at her initial prejudice against him, I got over that quickly enough and began to enjoy ish the story However where this book fell short in my opinion was with the contrived drama obstacle that occurred It was the same thing that I ve seen time and time again and I could see it coming from 25 mil [...]

  7. Ice Angel is another fun read from Elizabeth Hanbury Like Hanbury s first book, the Paradise Will, this novel is set in a Regency England that will be familiar to fans of Georgette Heyer Hanbury populates this world with, as she states on her website, swoon worthy heroes and sparkling heroines Hanbury adds a small sub plot exposing the not so nice realities of Regency England however, this sub plot does not detract from the light feel of the novel Rather it serves to make the hero even swoon wo [...]

  8. It was a fun, light read a perfect choice when you have read all your Heyers Beautiful, spirited heroines, dashing heroes, lots of romance and some suspence all combined in a fast moving plot But it is not just pure romance and wish fulfilment There are also some darker themes and poignant moments which make the characters feel real and offer the reader a chance of true emotional connection with what is going on in the novel This is my first of Elizabeth Hanbury s books, but definitely not the l [...]

  9. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book It has been a while since I ve read a book that was so clean I have to say that I do enjoy my steamy romance and the fact is that this one was not and I still enjoyed it enough to be a 5 read.I thought it was really well written and I liked the H h very much, and all the other characters and off course Dominic.I recommend this book to everyone

  10. I ve read Ice Angel, A Bright Particular Star, The Paradise Will and The Cinderella Debutante and I think this is my favorite book by Elizabeth Hanbury so far The Paradise Will a close second Each story ends in marriage but the mechanism in each story to overcome barriers and surrender to that love is very different The vivid imagery makes it easy to vicariously get lost in another time.

  11. Another delicious regency read from Elizabeth Hanbury, with a hint of the darker side of London life that underlies its glittering society.
