  1. Hope her name and her greatest needOur heroine loses her parents in an Indian attack She has no other family or close friends in the area so she makes a poor decision and jumps into a marriage to the epitome of worst husband ever 3 years later her life is left with very little Hope and she is embroiled in a murder trial believed guilty by most and pleading for strength, mercy, and hope from her Heavenly Father Well written, book 2 in the series but could easily stand alone I enjoyed it, and even [...]

  2. I liked this book I really like the author the first one in the series was better I love this time period and always kind of invision myself during that time period But then I read a book like this and am glad that I didn t live during a time with such injustice and lack of rights for woman.

  3. This book was so juvenile I question why it was marketed for an adult audience It should have had pictures could have had less descriptive words been much better marketed for a 3rd graders They might be at a higher comprehension level for this book, however I cannot believe this author teaches writing in post secondary establishments That is a farce The main character is annoying and complains constantly and one moment she is brave, yet all others she is a coward The character development is dis [...]

  4. I loved this book 2nd in series and main characters in book 1 continue in this book also But could be a standalone Faith s parents are killed, and with no other family, she marries a storekeeper thinking she will have a stable life Her husband is a disappointment in many ways, and when he is killed Faith is accused by his brother A real mystery surrounds her, and I must admit, I had it figured wrong Book kept me on the edge of my seat Looking forward to the last book in the series.

  5. This book was okay, but not amazing The story line and character were somewhat interesting Ultimately, my biggest complaint is the lack of character or relational development There was a lot of mystery and barely any romance until the very end.

  6. It was interesting to read about the trial and trying to solve the mystery of who actually committed the crimes instead of focusing on the romance Lovely story.

  7. I liked this book, but not as much as the first one in the series I did feel that the end was a bit rushed, and that the romance element was missing in this book.

  8. Out of the frying pan and into the fire That is just what seems to be happening to Faith Nolan after marrying Roger when she lost everything in a fire and had no place to go First she lost her parents and thinking there were only a couple of single men left to marry, she opted for Roger Only in hindsight years later, she wished she would have taken up the charitable offers of the town s resident s to stay with them She just didn t want people to feel sorry for her and she certainly didn t want t [...]

  9. 10. Originally posted at The Scribbling SpriteRating 3.5 starsInspired by the biblical story of Abigail in 1 Samuel, Remember Me When is an intriguing story, and has a great message.Faith Nolan is a humble, God fearing woman who wouldn t hurt a fly After all, she s never even put a hand up to defend herself against her abusive husband, Roger So why is it that when she discovers her husband dead, that she s the one accused of his murder Sure, there was that confrontation they d had before his death A [...]

  11. I was a little wary of reading this, having just come off a novel that had one of the main characters imprisoned, but once I got into it I was still curious about what would happen But then I got about halfway through and thought about stopping again I struggled a lot to finish this book It didn t hold my interest and I ended up feeling bored by the last third.I feel like one of the problems of this book was making the husband and his brother so unlikable and obviously sketchy I don t have a pro [...]

  12. This book had some potential, and I liked it enough to finish it But, I have to admit that I skimmed through a large section of it It just didn t hold my attention the way I thought it could The parts that were supposed to be gripping didn t have as much tension as I would like Some of the comings and going s of the people seemed a little bit confusing Two people would be having a conversation and then all of a sudden the loud drunk brother in law would begin shouting in the background, and I wa [...]

  13. A story set in late 1800 s well crafted and has a dash of mystery too Faith parents are killed when Indians burn down their house and she is left with no choice but either live with some family or marry when someone proposes Robert proposes and she agrees to marry him and loses her peace of mind from that day He is abusive, a drunkard and a cheat He has his brother to keep him company But Faith is a woman of God and stays in the marriage and tries to make it work But one day trying to do right w [...]

  14. After truly enjoying the first book in the series, this one left me disappointed It was far murder mystery than romance and the romance itself seemed tacked on Faith is a resilient wife of an abusive, shiftless, drunkard of a husband She is framed for his murder and the whole town turns against her.Olivia makes an appearance from book 1, but her character didn t feel the same to me Granted, some time has passed, but I should still recognize her That was even disappointing. Finally, I didn t eve [...]

  15. This book was poorly written I got really sick of reading the characters jaw about the problem I got sick of reading the characters southern accents dialect written out for one and for two they seemed to have nothing else to do but talk about Faith being accused of murder and theft She also got injured way too much The characters were a typical and flat I could only see two reasons Faith and Nathan should get together They believed in God and were super attractive I wasn t convinced they should [...]

  16. Faith Her name alone says it all SPOILER ALERT Left alone and unable to provide for herself after her parents were killed and her home was destroyed, Faith marries for necessity instead of love Abused from the beginning of her marriage she still has faith that things will change She works hard to support her husband and his brother at their General Store Mystery awaits as she stands accused of killing her husband along with many other things that are not of her character Who will believe her Wil [...]

  17. Stayed up till 2am to finish this book I LOVED it It is a historical Christian, romance, mystery Faith is both mentally and physically abused by her husband During the last fight, she stands up to him, only to be shoved, hitting her head and gets knocked out When she wakes up, her husband is laying in a pool of blood, dead, and the cabin in on fire This is just the beginning of Faith s troubles If Faith didn t kill him, who did why Through it all, she keeps her faith Yes, she doubts it at times [...]

  18. I won this book though the First Reads program This is the second book in the series, and I had read the first before reading this book The novel can be a stand alone, but I found it beneficial to already be familiar with the setting, and some of the secondary characters.I greatly enjoyed this story much than the first I found the story compelling and dramatic enough to keep my attention At this time I can t think of any critique.I m looking forward to reading the next book from Ginny Aiken.

  19. I really enjoy this author s effort to give the book a unique story line It was refreshing to read something different There were exceptionally moral characters and exceptionally immoral characters The main character kept her faith in God and never compromised This is a book that I won t forget and will recommend to others.

  20. A well written story I didn t quite love it as much as the first one in the series, but definitely still enjoyed this one The mystery suspense aspect of this novel was intriguing Faith is accused of killing her abusive husband and several other things happen which point to her being the murderer The hero of the novel was a bit forgettable

  21. I just picked this up off the shelf, no idea what it was about and yet I did enjoy it It s a Christian book so has that element but the plot is interesting about the 1800s and trying a woman for crimes Light but glad I read it.

  22. This was a very good book I liked the heroine a lot She had the right stuff The hero was good too I thought that the people of Bountiful were good and they loved fiercely It shows what God can do when people are willing to listen.

  23. Not an award winner by any means Don t get me wrong, it wasn t a bad book, justr Started out good descriptive, well developed characters But then it just started repeating itself A good and simple in between book for me.

  24. Good read It was rather suspenseful I wish we could ve gotten just a bit of the actual love story at the end it seemed to end a little abruptly.

  25. I liked this book and author This time period w as great Histotical christian christian , mystery has everything.

  26. Couldn t get into this one didn t finish It wasn t horrendously horrible though I just wanted to clarify why it only got one star.
