  3. Cassie married at an incredibly young age, at only twenty years old, to an older man and her first love She never got to experience life or travel the world but she was content and satisfied with her life despite all that After discovering that Gil, her husband of ten years, had betrayed her, Cassie leaves immediately and doesn t look back She devotes the next year of her life to doing what she never did before discovering who she is and what she wants out of this life to make her truly happy.I [...]

  4. I started reading this book thinking it was going to be a perfect December read and all Christmassy and snowy themed, to help make me feel all festive So I was a tad surprised to discover that, despite the books title and aside from a few pages, this was of a general chick lit romance book.In saying that it was a nice fluffy read sugary sweet like a box of Roses chocolates surprisingly it was also imbued with intelligence and well crafted writing and a step above a lot of other books in this ge [...]

  5. Trigger warning SuicideI dithered about giving this four stars, but honestly, the final third of the book fell apart a bit for me and I ended up giving this three stars Christmas at Tiffany s has Cassie ready to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband Gil Her school friends, Kelly, Anouk, and Suzy come to Scotland to celebrate with Cassie Cassie feels out of step with her friends since she spends most of her days nights alone while her husband works several hours away and she see [...]

  6. Oh my I ve just stayed up way past my bedtime because I had to finish this book From the cover and synopsis, I d expected a light hearted, fun story It was so much For basically the entire last third of the book, this was me Honestly, I went from laughing to crying to smiling to crying again every 5 minutes I m sure I looked insane I don t want to spoil any of the plot points as I think that d take a lot from the story, but unless I m just being a cry baby, have tissues at hand I don t think th [...]

  8. As seen on my blog 2.5 STARSI m not a huge fan of name, and or label, dropping in books It cheapens the narrative, and makes my skin itch from superficial ridiculousness Christmas at Tiffany s was full of it Filled to the brim I kept trying to concentrate on the deeper message of truly finding yourself after you ve experienced trauma, but I just kept getting distracted by the primping and preening I can t count the amount of times I eye rolled at the references made to guys checking out Cassie a [...]

  9. I LOVED this book The title quickly caught my eye and after I read the synopsis I was sold I myself have always wanted to travel specifically to the 3 destinations Cassie visits throughout the book New York, Paris and London I loved the way Swan managed to create such vivid images for the readers I really warmed up to Cassie as the novel and her character progressed I especially loved Bas s character There were a lot of moments where I found myself laughing out loud because of him And I enjoyed [...]

  10. Oh my gosh was this book annoying in parts First off, the title Christmas at Tiffany s Talk about misleading There is the BRIEFEST celebration of Christmas and all that is merry bright about one third the way through the book and then Christmas is kind of mentioned again in the epilogue but that s it That does not justify a Christmassy title and book cover stern face Luckily enough I read this book in November as I have rather a lot of Christmassy books to read this year but if I had saved this [...]

  11. chicklitaholic 20Once I became aware of Karen Swan s latest novel, Christmas At Tiffany s it automatically became a must read book The cover is beautiful and the title really enticed me into wanting to read the book straight away As soon as Christmas At Tiffany s arrived I curled up on the sofa with a steaming mug of hot chocolate ready to delve into Cassie s journey. While the idea for the story was nothing unique or original, I have to admit that the idea of Cassie being cheated on then spendin [...]

  12. Okay, so there were a few things in here that irked me a bit but over all I really really loved this story I loved reading about Cassie s transformation and how she found herself with the help of her friends Truth be told I didn t even read the synopsis of this book before I picked it up I saw one of my GR friends had read it and given it a great review so I decided to give it a try I m so glad I did I loved the friendships she gained in NY, the chef experience she had in Paris, her weekend trip [...]

  13. I never expected to enjoy this book as much as I did As you can read from the synopsis, this is the story of a woman whose marriage falls apart, so she agrees to spend 4 months with each of her 3 best friends in their respective cities New York, Paris, and London to try to find herself and figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. There were a few things about the story that bugged me like everyone wanting to turn Cassie into a different person in both looks and actions However, [...]

  14. For days, my blogging readers have fallen for the clues I have left behind thinking I have traveled to New York, Paris, Venice and London, but in reality I have simply been sharing some of the incredible insights I have gotten from Karen Swan s latest novel Christmas at Tiffany s I found myself looking up interesting tidbits as I came across them to get a real feel for the places Cassie Fraiser finds herself traveling to From the sparkling water drinking fountains in Paris, to the famous Kiss st [...]

  16. Originally Reviewed at Novel EscapesChristmas at Tiffany s is a novel about friendship and love throughout a journey of discovery and reinvention Having gone through a similar starting over process myself as the main character, Cassie unfortunately without the world travel I could relate to much of what she was going through There were times though that I wondered what she was doing or cringed at her decisions and those her friends forced on her, but in the end Cassie found her way and I enjoyed [...]

  18. This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I picked this book because of its cover I know I broke the don t judge a book by its cover rule I am a sucker for a pretty cover and this one is great I LOVE Christmas It s my favourite time of year I also adore the idea of New York at Christmas I am however still to see this for myself Maybe one day However don t be fooled into thinking this book is all about Christmas In fact only a small portion of the book is set at Christmas. This was [...]

  19. With the way this novel starts out, I had an idea that it was going to be along the lines of The Devil Wore Prada somewhat crossed vaguely with Sex in the City , but set in three cities I obviously did not do enough research into this book I only knew that it had to do with a married woman Cassie being jilted by her husband and taking some time to recover in three major cities I was very, very wrong This book was so much than that I thought that it would be a chick lit, frothy popcorn read suff [...]

  20. I ve just finished reading Christmas as Tiffany s by Karen Swan and I have to say I absolutely loved it The story tells of Cassie, who married young at 20 and then 10 years later finds that her marriage wasn t what she thought it was as her husband has betrayed her She leaves and puts herself in the hands of her 3 best friends and stays with each of them in turn in New York, Paris and London In each city she is reinvented and changed by the experiences she has there Although it is called Christm [...]

  22. This book tells the story of 30 year old Cassie, who after facing a huge problem in her marriage takes turns living all around the world trying to find the life that she was deprived of by marrying the first man she fell in love with I love this story and I love all the characters, especially Henry However I totally don t support the idea of what Cassie is doing It seems to me as if this were to actually happen in real life it would cause a lot of pyschological damage Reinventing your life over [...]

  23. I nearly threw the towel in during the first half of the book as it was so boring and over long but as soon as the Venice trip took place, I was hooked I really liked, Cassie and Suzy but loved Henry I didn t particularly like Kelly and Anouk but they were obviously necessary to the story I liked Henry s lists how lovely It s a book that has you feeling fuzzy and cosy second half, of course and has left me glad that I stuck with it and finished it.

  25. After Cassie s 10 year marriage ends she decides to spend a year long trial with each of her girlfriends in NY, Paris London in search of her new life This book was long, but the storyline kept me interested curious on how Cassie s year was going to end.

  26. if i could i would give than 5 stars one of the best books i read in a looooooooooooong timesimply funny witty and eyeopener abt frndship than love about life than lovei will read it again.ybe on a long trip or d summer holsit just soothes me down and cheers me up

  27. I ve just finished Karen Swan s novel Christmas at Tiffany s, and I have to be frankI LOVED IT Before I get into the nitty gritty, though, I wrote a few status updates on as I read this rather long, almost 600 page story, so I d like to transcribe them again here and use them as a basis for my review On arrive Paris Good riddance to Luke, who I don t trust for some reason Also, I m slightly frustrated with Cassie for allowing her friends first Kelly, and now Anouk to completely remake her when s [...]

  28. I feel like this was exactly the escape I needed just now I do love scavenger hunts and riddles, so this was right up my alley Plus, there was the travel tourist angle and the friendships and romance All wrapped up, it was a perfect little gift for me.I think it works as a seasonal novel, but really the Christmas scenes are such a small part of the book, it could be happily enjoyed at any time of year. The audio version was fantastic, even if the reader s American accent was a little off That was [...]

  29. 4.5 5 From the description, I knew this was not really a Christmas book, despite the title and cover It is a well written near 600 page story of heartbreak, love, friendship, heartbreak, travel, and lists Having been to only a few of the places on the lists myself like Tiffany s after Christmas, though , Cassie s experiences from Scotland to NYC, Paris, Venice, and London were so expertly detailed, it was easy to share her emotions with each new adventure Swan is a truly talented writer to acco [...]
